Green-vs-Brown

Polychrotidae

Description:

green anole (Anolis carolinensis) and larger brown anole (Anolis sagrei)

Habitat:

spotted on ginger plants and long cabbage palm boot near stream in wooded area

Notes:

I heard the rustling of the dragonfly and spotted the green anole on a palm boot with the sizeable insect in its mouth. Within a few few seconds the brown anole appeared and like lightening stole it away. The green one made a half-hearted attempt to retake the prize, then both disappeared among the ginger.

Thank you, Dany. I saw the same encounter the following day, but it was two green anoles.
