Description:

Spring flowering bulb. Strap leafed foliage, sometimes to 2 ft. Thick flower stems often topped with six or more funnel-shaped, red flowers.

Habitat:

Sun to part shade in various soils. Light shade in hottest areas. More tolerant of heavy clay soils and cold than other Amaryllis. Plant with necks of bulbs left slightly above ground level.
