Rhinella margaritifera
A larger than average toad (2-3") that can be found in many colors ranging from light brown to dark cinnamon. They normally have a symmetric pattern of black spots or splotches spread across the dorsum. There is a very heavy crest beginning over the eye and continuing down the sides of the abdomen nearly to the hind legs.
This is a terrestrial toad that prefers moist solid ground to swampy ground. While they can be found during the day on shaded jungle trails, it is more commonly found at night in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.
A very common toad, easily distinguished (once you know what you're looking for) from all other toads except the R. festae, which has a noticeably hooked nose.
