Description:

Good rock garden plant, good woodland garden plant, good for naturalizing, attracts birds, suitable for cut flowers, shade tolerant. "Columbine" is derived from the Latin word for pigeon (Dove)

Habitat:

Throughout the Northern Hemisphere

Notes:

Columbine is easy to grow in loose, average to rich, well-drained soil. Heavy or soggy soils will hasten their demise. Prefers a neutral pH.

Very true...unfortunate for us the bloom time here has not coincided with cloudy days or rain for that matter...it's looking to be a dry Spring

Sunny days can make pictures too bright, sometimes a cloudy day is the best time to take bright colors! I love Columbine.
