Thymus vulgaris
Low growing, grey green, aromatic, fine leaved plant. Small white flowers loved by bees.
Prefers full sun and fairly dry, well-drained soil.
Thyme has been used medicinally since ancient times. It was mentioned as far back as 2750B.C. by the Sumerians, who wrote about using it in a poultice, while the Egyptians used it medicinally and to embalm their dead. It has been used ever since, for both medicinal and culinary purposes.
