King Sago Palm

Description:

A palm tree that has a subterranean trunk until it grows very old. Caution must be taken when dealing with this palm as its leaves grow tough and become spikes. Also the stem of these leaves are barbed.

Habitat:

This species of palm originated in Southern Japan however this species has become very popular commercially and is used in landscaping internationally.

Notes:

Under no circumstances should you or any animal ingest this palm as it is very poisonous. All parts are poisonous and poison control should be contacted if even the smallest bit is eaten.
