Gray Catbird

Dumetella carolinensis

Description:

Gray Catbird Its call sounds similar to a mewing house cat but they're also great mimics of other bird songs often follow by a "mew' call

Habitat:

dense thickets, brambles, shrubby or brushy areas and hedgerows, often near water

Notes:

Often recognizes a foreign egg and ejects it from the nest IF the outsider (Brown-headed Cowbird) gets past its watchful egg in the first place.
