Hi Jennifer, this is a very interesting toad you have here! There is something weird going on, and it's possible it is a fungal or parasitic infection. If it is indeed a fungal infection, a state wildlife employee really should be contacted. You may want to contact a local wildlife biologist just to send them this picture and tell them where you found it, and they should be able to send it to the appropriate person to figure out what is going on here. This is important because it could be something that isn't known to be widespread in Florida and can later cause devastating losses to amphibian populations. I have no idea what this is, but it is not normal. Though this is an invasive species of toad, it could be transmitting the presumed disease on to native wildlife and that could be a problem. Either way, I suggest you get into contact with a local wildlife professional. Thanks!
