Description:

Atleast 3-4 of these beetles ..one looking like it has an injury

Habitat:

The last picture shows where these ones where (highly thorned weed) ..made it very hard to photograph unless the took a stroll along little pieces of wood. Local reserve

The fireblight beetle is polyphagus, preferring acacia but will feed on eucalyptus and others. Several of the Peltoschema species occur in green or brown form.
I believe you have the ID correct

Pyrgoides is now Peltoschema.

Seems to be....just no green and nowhere close was acacia tree's , that tree i know .

They are all green ...these had no green at all ?
No acacia ..is beautiful with yellow flowers ...this is a spiny weed on the ground, last photo supplied.

Hey Charlie I think this might be Peltoschema sp. Thorny plant suggests acacia?
