Description:

I had seen this plant before but always as stand alone never as a cluster. It seems that the white flowers turn brown when old and then a small white seed pod comes out. About 10 cm tall (4 inches). In pic # 5 shows a new growth.

Habitat:

Oak forest's floor.

Very interesting because it was just going into flower up here, yours looks to have flowered and seeded already up here. Making connections that the books don't...

Thank you Werdgent for the ID and the link. It looks really similar even your suggestion say it is "in every state of the United States east of the Mississippi River." Very interesting info.

I didn't look at your map before I suggested that ID. I don't know if this species ranges down there.
