This large larva had just molted when I saw it. It must be in a late instar, for its size. Its old skin can be seen in photos 2 and 3.

Yes, Mark and Xun. Juan di Trani and EarlyStages had a discussion about that some days ago, but it looked inconclusive to me. I posted this hoping to get more info about it. This is the time I wish I had paid more attention to my biology classes...
I recently read somewhere if the number of proleg pairs goes past 5 it is sawfly
