Description:

This is a medium-sized sparrow. It has a rounded head, short bill, and a fairly long tail.

Habitat:

Dark-eyed Juncos breed in coniferous or mixed-coniferous forests. They can be found in Canada, the western U.S. and the Appalachians. In the wintertime, you can find them in woodlands, fields, parks, and backyards.
