Common bottlenose dolphin

Description:

A bottlenose dolphin breaching in the lagoon of Turneffe Atoll. This active individual was socializing with a big group when it began to breach repetitively at the surface; coming out on its right and slapping its side against the water with a big splash.

Habitat:

Shallow water (6ft) with a seabed of turtle and manatee seagrass.
