Eastern Garter Snake

Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis

Description:

Highly variable in colour, three yellowish stripes, about 60 cm in length.

Habitat:

Widespread & common throughout Ontario, able to live in different environments including forests, wetlands and rocky areas. This one was spotten in Halton Falls Conservation Area.

Notes:

Not venoumous.
