Slime Mold

Description:

This is a tiny fungus, with a half-inch white bottle-brush structure on a ¾" black stem. These have me stumped, although I think they may the fruiting bodies of some kind of slime mold.

Habitat:

This was in subtropical forest, on rotting wood on a dampish north-facing slope.

Notes:

check out the reference link to see what I based the slime-mold ID on. I don't know much about fungi, although I do have a bottle brush that looks a lot like these.
