Large glossy flowers and Green shiny leaves on a medium sized tree.
There are many varieties of Magnolias. They tend to be found in warmer rather than colder climates.
I adore magnolias and this one looks really special with the red stamen "stalk" in the centre. I think I've got the right ID, Alice - matches the one in weblink photo..
