Description:

Strongly resembles winter plumage Ruddy Duck, but is larger; and bill shape and nostril placement are different.

Habitat:

Prospect Lake is a large artificial reservoir in a city park amid urban residential neighborhoods. Habitat is mostly lawns with planted trees: elm, cottonwood, mixed conifers.

Notes:

The Black Scoter is normally a seabird.
