I almost always just go to Wikipedia with the common name i have and find the scientific name there as well as confirming the spotting.

Thanks Ava. I was unaware that they show up as unknown when the scientific name is lacking. Adam told me on this one, I really don't know why I didn't put it. I guess I had a brain fart. Hahaha on several of my spottings I am not sure of the scientific name, so I just didn't put one. When I am done adding my latest spottings I will try to do a little research on those and see if I can find out. Thanks again.

LyndseyD, where you know the species as in this case and some other of your spottings, please can you look up & add the scientific name so that we can take this off of the "unknown" list. Because we have a global user base & sometimes many different common names for the same species, the system uses the scientific name to link similar spottings - which also means this may come up in the thumbnails on other spottings & more people may take a look & favorite it. Without the scientific name this will continue to show up as unidentified & you may get further ID suggestions from other users.

that website looks like it would be an awesome resource for wildflowers in our areas. I should have known those were chokecherry plants since we have chokecherry trees all over Golden and I eat the cherries all the time;)....but the one i took a photo of looks more like a bush than a tree...maybe they were just smaller...i dunno

Ya beulah is about 20 miles west of pueblo I believe. Its a tiny mountain town.... My cousins just moved to Texas. Do you like it in Colorado?

ha...it's cool. Well I have no idea where Beulah is....so Pueblo is just as good. I moved here from Texas a couple years ago

Never mind... Stupid question once I look at your profile. Hahaha. I like Golden, I was up there not too long ago for the State Science Olympiad. I actually took it in Beulah but it says that its in Pueblo.

Ya! I've seen them previously... before I found project noah, but never knew what they were... Are you from Colorado? I love my home!

nice photo! I have one of those in my spottings as well. No one helped me identify it yet. They are all over up here. I'm sure Pueblo can't be too different:)
