Carolina Wolf Spider

Hogna carolinensis

Description:

While walking along the outskirts of a bog, I saw this enormous spider (I thought it was a small frog). Her abdomen was covered with baby spiders.

Habitat:

Found in a bog in the piedmont region of South Carolina.
