For some reason the proportions just look wrong - I guess the female has a smaller head and longer bill than the male.
Ruddy would have a stripe on the face and the entire bottom 2/3 of the face would be light tan, they don't have just a white patch
I look at the book and I see half and half... lol. I know that's not likely
female bufflehead.
