Thanks bayucca, that is a great link but I don't know where to start. It's very cool as the blogger takes a lot of his pics in Nam Nao National Park, one of my favorite in Thailand.

Pachydiplax longipennis is an US species and not found in Thailand. Take a look at this one:

The black tail might be important for screening.

Do you have any links Ashish? Most of the images I see of it are from above and can't see the colors on the body.

Thanks for the suggestion Ashish but I don't think it's that. The blue dasher doesn't appear to have any blue color in the body like this spotting and the range doesn't match.
