Gulf fritillary chrysalis

Agraulis vanillae

Description:

approx. 1 1/4 inches long

Habitat:

spotted on dried pipevine stem

Notes:

This is quite active for a chrysalis. When I first found it, it was in the position pictured. But when I gave it a little touch, it flipped itself to the left. I look at it throughout the day and it seems to change position often.
