Gray Treefrog (possibly Cope's Treefrog)

Hyla versicolor

Description:

Typically green or gray in our area with a darker stripe running along the side. Underside of rear legs are yellowish. About 3.8 to 5.1 cm in length. As other treefrogs, the gray treefrog has long toes with terminal toe pads.

Habitat:

Deciduous forests.

Notes:

Gray treefrogs and Cope's treefrogs are both found in this part of Minnesota, but are very difficult to tell apart unless they are calling. Gray treefrogs are more common here than Cope's so I'm calling this animal, with some reservation, a gray treefrog.
