Several variety of pond fish. Golden comets mixed bred with fancy gold fish, along with golden koi in the garden ponds in the back yard. This is during their morning feeding.
I cleaned the lower pond today, to my shock, all of the larger fish you see in the photos here, are missing! LOL
Looks like I am going to have to setup a field cam, or sit out in the back yard at night to see whether it's a heron, (we have several nesting on the property, green and blue), or if it's a raccoon coming to munch on the fat fish!
I don't mind the gold fish getting eaten, as they are prolific breeders and I end up having to sell, or give away many of them each year, the Gold Koi, on the other hand, are some of my favorite fish, they were very attractive and kept the ponds relatively clear of larvae and algae.
The main reason I cleaned the pond is that I noticed an algae bloom starting and figured something may be wrong, I guess I was right!
