thanks for the correction!! I did mean the ring/annulus. Mushrooms in general are a little difficult to describe. Have to stiill do a lot of work in photographing the underside. I think though ,getting the ht of the annulus on the stem could be done . Must keep a ruler with me.

Looks like an Agaric and a very attractive one at that ! Just a small note - 'stipe', "stem" and "stalk" all refer to the same structure in mushrooms. I think you meant "ring' /"annulus" - which is lovely and skirt-like.
Would have been good to get a shot of the underside and a full shot of the stem - the height of the annulus on the stem is said to be important in some cases.
