Scaphytopius sp.
A very tiny leafhopper, perhaps .3 cm in length.
At edge of suburban lawn and deciduous forest.
I scoured Bugguide.net too and didn't come up with anything. This might be Scaphytopius species, but the one I photographed was pretty sleek and not as stout. I don't have any more time today to ponder this, but will check some tomorrow and try to pin something down. Thanks for the suggestion. Some of these are really tough to get down to even sub-family.
Ha! That's the only one I saw that was remotely close on BugGuide. The dark markings on the side are fairly straight on this one where the other is wavy. Of course that doesn't rule out the genus!
Obviously nobody dares to ID nymphs (of most insects) down to species...

I am not 100% sure if my ID is correct, but it looks quite fine...
Awesome shot! Please add to The Hoppers http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8096...
