sea urchin

Description:

It has lots of green spikes with a little white and purple in the middle. I does not hurt when I touch it. It is the size of a half dollar coin. It has a star on it, which shows it has five sections, like a sea star. It was found under a rock with barnacles on the rock. It stayed still.

Habitat:

This sea urchin lives in a medium sized tidepool on a beach. The tidepool is rocky and has a lot of sea weed.

Notes:

I wonder if I could find another urchin of this kind (there weren't many in the tidepool). I wonder what it was doing. Was it eating?
