What kind of raccoon?
Awww :( That is very sad. I just thought it was some different kind of raccoon...
It likely has mange. Poor thing. That is probably why it's coat looks so shabby and why there might be confusion with ID. Also, it's not normal for them to be out during the day. I would say this is not a healthy specimen.
