A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Hibiscus moscheutos
This is one of the many swamp Hibiscus in the garden. They come in many colors, but all have the dark maroon eye. The blooms are the size of a saucer or a small dinner plate. Each bloom only blooms for a day, but there are many on each plant.
The garden is about half an acre of native plants specifically planted for wildlife. The main water source is a pond that is filtered by two gravel streams. It is on a peninsula by Lake Lewisville.
