Dodder

Cuscuta sp

Description:

This is the strangest plant. Bright to pale orange in colour, with tiny creamy flowers & pale green fruits. No leaves that I could see. It had twined itself around the grasses & plants on the forest floor. I was amazed when I came across this walking along the edge of the creek, it was a sea of orange. Beautiful :)

Habitat:

On the edge of a tidal creek. Coastal.

Thanks so much for the ID Cindy. How interesting that it's a parasitic!
