Red drum

Sciaenops ocellatus

Description:

approx. 20 inches; coppery color with distinctive black black spot at base of the tail.

Habitat:

spotted in shallows of the Indian River

Notes:

Most reds have a spot on both sides of the tail. But some do have multiple spots, http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wil... The most I have seen was six spots on each side. A red without spots is very rare.
