Your Snowy Owl is great. Definitely a target bird for me.

Cool, I would love to visit the Everglades sometime see some tropical and Eastern birds, but McNair beat me to it.

Definitely! They were pretty common

I'm not the best herpetologist, but I bet you got to see some big crocodiles.

That isn't one I saw, but was mostly in South Africa for herps. Definitely going to be more of a typical tourist the next time I go and look for mammal and birds haha

Wow, that must be awesome. I would love to see a Diederik Cucko someday.

Mine is 3 countries and 5 states in the US. So 512 is pretty low haha

I like how you say "only"! Ive seen 216, probably because I haven't visited many actual birding spots and I have only been to 2 states.

Thanks Joshua! My life list is only 512 right now, I'm too interested in everything nature has to offer to only look up, so I'm sure I miss a lot of birds!

You are very sharp with birds Ashley! I bet you have a considerable life list.

Never a problem :) A wren would have its tail sticking straight up 99% of the time, and likely be scolding you for some reason, they are pretty grumpy little birds haha

I was unsure as it appeared small. Thought it might be a wren of some sort. But I appreciate the ID as always Ashley and thank you for your suggestion Joshua!

Too thin of a bill to be a vireo. And it has the yellow at the base of the tail, which is a strong indication of either palm warbler or yellow-rumped warbler, and this certainly isn't a yellow-rump

Have you been seeing a lot of new species in Florida?

JoshuaGSmith

It looks very much like a red eyed vireo, but they aren't found here at this time of year and this one doesn't have red eyes.
