A metallic green bee possibly in the Halictidae family.
Rose bush, mixed everwood
Shot with an iPhone olloclip
Fabulous macro shot , Peter!!!
The only way to narrow this further than just a green bee would be to find out what the thorax looked like. Was the thorax striped, like Apis mellifera, or was it green as well?
Hi Peter, isn't this Genus Agapostemon - Metallic Green Bee? Agapostemon splendens? And nice shot with your iPhone. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Sachin. I'm still trying to nail down the genus on this one.
