Moth Fly

Clogmia albipunctata

Description:

This is a very small Moth Fly (or Drain Fly) that i found inside my house. This fly is very small, but can be seen by the naked eye. It body and the wings is covered with long brown hairs. The size of this fly is approximately 2 - 3 mm long. The picture above is the picture of this fly in x20 - x30 enlargement.

Habitat:

- Around the house (on bathroom, kitchen, or basement walls).

Notes:

- Moth Flies are not really moths because they only have two wings which categorizes them as a fly. They is a fly from family Psychodidae. More active at night, do not bite and, do not transmit human diseases.

Hi Lanzz, this is a Psychodidae fly,
also known as Moth Fly because of it's similarity to moths.
