Trachemys scripta elegans

Description:

they can live 20-30 years but some can live more than 40 years.Males reach sexual maturity when their shell(carapaces) measures 10 cm and females at 15 cm. The males have a thicker and longer tail than the females. The red marking on the males is also thought to be larger and brighter.

Habitat:

southeast of Colorado,Virginia,and Florida; feral populations are now found in Australia,Europe,South Africa,the Caribbean,Israel,Bahrain Mariana Islands,Guam,and south east and far east Asia
