Robber Fly

Description:

Gray and brown fly with a light beard and long, slender abdomen that has a black tip. There is one black spot on either side of the abdomen which seems to be distinctive enough for an ID but I can't find this species. The legs are red with only the "feet" being dark. Wings are translucent brown.

Habitat:

Nylon string in garden that holds up the beans in the backyard.

Notes:

Subfamily Asilinae?
