Description:

a shrub that is sometimes hard to find because of its clonal growth, you find tons of it in one area and then none for miles around. grows in moist soil in forest understories yellow flowers in early spring, become aromatic red fruits in the fall. the leaves are highly aromatic as well. dried spicebush fruits can be ground and used as baking spice or the leaves and young twigs can be brewed to make tea.
