Red-tailed Hawk

Buteo jamaicensis

Description:

I believe it is a hawk of some type, about 1ft tall with dark, light brown, and white feathers. Sharp beak and pointy talons, he appears to have a broken foot.

Habitat:

Temperate climates with a fair amount of rain.

Poor guy! He is an immature (you can tell by the light irises), but I'm not sure if that also explains why he appears to be missing feathers on his head? Looks like he's had a rough time!
