Aronia melanocarpa
Round, leathery leaves. Black/purple berries were on the plant. the plant seemed not to be dense but rather spread out. About 2 feet tall.
The shade coverage was medium with different parts of the day providing more shade than others. Rather moist area. Swampy area about 50 yards away from the area.
