Arabidopsis thaliana
A small plant with a rosette of leaves at the base with one or several flowering stems shooting up from it. Small, white flowers and the seeds are in small rod-like capsules (silique)
Usually found growing as a weed in cracks in the pavement or in flowerbeds alongside the road.
In plant biology and genetics it is used as a model organism. I took this picture for a dear friend who works with Arabidopsis in the lab.
