Another is the apple looper (Phrissogonus laticostata), and it is a known pest in WA's vineyards. Unlikely, but just putting it out there. I'm not really an moth/insect guy. We need a grub expert.

the only large agriculture there are vineyards but the owner of the property has a little orchard with tomatoes

Have a look also at tomato green looper (Chrysodeixis eriosoma) and australian cabbage looper (Chrysodeixis subsiden).

This looks an awful lot like a cabbage looper caterpillar (Trichoplusia ni), but I can't quite figure out the stripe. Theirs is down the side, but yours is down the back. Hmmm. Shades of green can vary. Is their any agriculture in that area? Rice, cotton, maize, etc?
