About 6-7 millimeters in body length, colored as shown.

Habitat:

Male wasp displaying territorial behavior in a bare sandy spot along a road in a residential neighborhood. Area also had grasses, sunflower.

Notes:

Note sexual dimorphism in coloring (female is black, brick red, and ivory in color pattern).
