then it must be piscator.... checked asperrimus pics in arkive. its very distinct and beautiful with nice markings over its dorsal body side.

thanks Scott & Chime there are two Xenochrophis species recorded in Sri Lanka X.asperrimus and X.piscator. should be one of them!!

i would have said piscator if it was in India. they're very common here. your spotting looks much like them. :)

Yes I'd venture Xenochrophis sp. too, but I don't know which of the (3?) species.
