Aurelia aurita
The jellies were seen for dozens of meters along the shoreline, left behind when the tide went out earlier in the day. We often see these jellyfish washed up on the shore, but I've never seen them in this number. But we've been swimming through loads of alive ones in the sea for the past two weeks! These jellyfish are recognized by their four horseshoe-shaped gonads. Sometimes they can have five, as seen in picture # 3. These were all that was left of the driest jellies. In the last photo, you can see the thin membrane that could be picked up from some of them.
