White-bearded Antshrike

Biatas nigropectus

Description:

Unique antbird in the Biatas genera, with 7,1 inches (18 cm). The female is brown with a rufous crest; presents white supercilium and a white collar, resembling the White-collared Foliage-gleaner, and the male differs by presenting a black crest and a black throat.

Habitat:

The White-bearded Antshrike inhabits bamboo patches along the Atlantic Forest in Brazil and Argentina.

Notes:

Is threatened to extinction due habitat loss and forest fragmentation. Vulnerable according IUCN.
