Notes:

Large ground squirrel that lives in the mountains and eats mainly grasses and seeds. Males are much larger than females. They live in colonies and love to bask in the sun on a rock, roof or any warm surface they can find. They post an outlook who gives a loud whistle to alert the colony of possible danger....ie you!

Thanks Atul and Willie! There is a colony of these cuties near the campground where I spent last weekend. Love to sit and watch them.
