Sun Anemone

Description:

Photo take at -40 ft in a corl reef. This anemone is a flattened oral disc covered with hundreds short, thick tentacles with a rounded tip. Oral disc up to 15 cm. Tentacles and oral disc green to brown.

Habitat:

Found in shallow waters from 1 mt to 10 mt, it´s a common anemone in the Caribbean from Florida to Central America. Inhabit shallow reefs, down to 9 m. Dense clusters may occupy large areas.
