Thank you again :) In Danish it is called Chessboard or 14-spotted, but when I looked at wiki I saw it was called 16-spotted, but I changed it to 14-spotted because it gave no sense with it's Latin name...
The Latin name means "14-spotted" and that's the common English name (it used to say 16-spotted ladybird in Wikipedia, but I just fixed that! It's never been called the 16-spot to my knowledge.) In continental Europe it is also called the Chessboard or Checkered Ladybird.
Thank you Abigail for your sex determination :) I have uploaded an extra photo were you can see the face better. Can you tell me which is the most prober common name, it seems there are several?

Very nice Jeannette!
Beautiful! This is a male, with a completely white 'face'; females have a black spot in the center of the head.
