Pine Squirrel

Tamiasciurus douglasii)

Description:

Gray squirrel with reddish belly

Habitat:

Pine forest with bitterbrush & manzanita

Notes:

This mother squirrel spent a lot of time in the trees in our camp, eating peanuts & scolding us. I think her nest was in one of the trees in our camp site.

Alice, the peanut was just a shell left by the previous user of the spot. We try not to leave things around as much as possible!
