Flatheaded Bald Cypress Sapwood Borer

Description:

About 10mm in length. Head and pronotum mostly black. Pronotum with faint yellow lateral margins. Elytra are black with yellow blotches, primarily at the margins and extending toward the midline. Elytra lined with lengthwise rows of small punctures.

Habitat:

Scrubby area near a reservoir. These were on Black-eyed Susan.
